The bloody-war Korean movie ‘71-Into the Fire’ held a special screening before its premiere in the theaters on May 16, attended by many foreign reporters in Seoul Lotte Cinema, on May 10. The movie has drawn much hype both at home and abroad for its production values, powerful historical narrative, and A-list casting. The movie has made a quite shocked to the audiences and got a lot of praised.
The US’s influential media Washington Post have requested an interview with the director, John H. Lee, due to their deep interest to the movie. “‘71-Into the Fire’ has shown on the cruelty of war and expressed a deep sympathy, that makes the movie audiences will be able to understand the true story of the war”, Washington Post’s reporter, Anderson said.
The movie is inspired by the true-life story of 71 student soldiers who fought a fierce and impossible battle to protect a support line along the Nakdong River during the Korean War. This true story has brought the other news agency around the world gave their comments, “This is one of the best war movies I have ever seen”, “They had successfully described the war very clearly”, and “The movie is highly recommended for the young generation”.
‘71-Into the Fire’ stars the top Korean actors Kwon Sang Woo, Cha Seung Won, TOP(Choi Seung Hyun), and Kim Seung Woo. The movie had made the first screening at Asia-Pacific Research Center of Stanford University, California which was also attended by the US’s critical film Scott Foundas and veteran armies as well.
